Principal's Message

Whitney's Mission   

Valuing each individual’s diversity and worth, the mission of Whitney Avenue Elementary is to educate and nurture each child to be a cooperative and independent learner with the skills to be prepared for the future (a productive (global citizen)) through rigorous evidence based programs and creative problem solving, in a physically and emotionally safe, collaborative learning environment, shared by staff, families, students, and community. We provide opportunities for enrichment, intervention, and remediation as necessary to meet the needs of all students at Whitney. We set high expectations for all students. 

Our Objectives

With the support from all stakeholders each student will develop and apply the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will prepare them for college or career readiness and enable appropriate utilization of cooperative and independent learning strategies in an ever- changing world.  It is our goal that each student will demonstrate persistent growth in Core Content areas and Social Emotional Learning as determined, but not limited to, multiple measures of achievement and growth including reflection, self-assessments, and goal setting. Additionally, each student will develop and consistently practice character traits needed to become compassionate, contributing, cooperative, and responsible citizens.

Welcome to Whitney Avenue Elementary!

I am honored and excited to serve as the Interim Principal of Whitney Avenue Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year.

Whitney has a strong tradition of supporting students and fostering a positive, caring learning environment. I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and wonderful students as we build upon the many strengths already present and continue creating opportunities for every child to learn, grow, and succeed.

At Whitney, we believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful school. When students feel safe, connected, and supported, they are able to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Our team is committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels a sense of belonging and is challenged to do their best each day.

As an educator and leader, I am passionate about building community, supporting student well-being, and partnering with families to ensure every student has the opportunities and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe schools are strongest when we work together, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and families throughout the year.
